This Tom Stuart-Smith garden is bursting with his signature perennial planting and supported by multi-stem trees. Veronicastrum virginicum ‘ Album’ provides height in southern borders, and Buxus ‘sempervirens’ topiary domes punctuate much of the planting. Allium ’sphaerocephalon’ and Allium ‘christophii’ bloom in late spring to early summer and the dried seed heads last for months providing further structure throughout the remainder of the year. Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’ is another regular to the garden and lines pathways in abundance. The jewel in the crown is the Prairie Garden, enclosed by beautiful two meter high Cotswold stone walling and seen here in the Spring before the strong colours of Eupatorium maculatum ‘riesenschirm’’ and Miscanthus ‘Malepartus’ do their thing.
